Humph.
Yet again they can’t get their shit together. Just as everyone thinks the FIA/FOTA “war” is done, they start it all again. FOTA claim that they were told they had no voting rights over new rules because they were not officially entered in to next years championship. But the FIA produced an official document to state they were on the 12th June

So, who’s playing who here?
Personally i feel FOTA has the best interests of everyone at heart, and the FIA are being tainted by their leader doing what he does best – monopolising and getting his own way. We shouldn’t be surprised, he’s a lawyer and we all know what that lot are like ;)
The more i read on it, the more inconsistent the FIA appear to become. This is just one of a long list of them, the last was just a couple of days ago where the FIA were allegedly insisting all new manufacturers use Cosworth engines. Nothing really wrong with that, but you need to at least tell them all that is a condition rather than let them spend millions on designs based on a different motor…
…unless of course you wished to rig the results…
…and they misrepresented Cosworth over it too, claiming that if more people used the engines the unit cost would lower. It won’t, its a set price if they make 5 or 500 as the R&D costs have already been absorbed, its just time, materials & tech support they are charging for.
Glad i requested to be banned from the F1 forum on 10/10ths now, i’d have worn my keyboard out by now if i hadn’t.
